Carol Ubben is a fine artist specializing in oil paintings of whimsical settings and ideas in a photorealistic style. An artist for many years, she was born in Chicago and received her BFA degree from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1971. Beginning as a fashion designer for Huntington Industries at the Merchandise Mart, she later became the Assistant Director of Publications of The Art Institute of Chicago. In 1976 she moved to a farm outside of Mount Morris in northern Illinois. She belonged to the Eagle’s Nest Art Group in Oregon, Illinois, and had created and painted numerous stage sets and backdrops for the Performing Arts Guild of Mount Morris. Her artwork can be found in many public and private collections. She is now living in Key Largo, Florida and is a current member of the Art Guild of the Purple Isles.
